2–14 Albert Road, South Melbourne, Victoria

There are Standard Fire Orders provided by the fire authorities to guide residents in the event of a fire. It is also a requirement under OC Rules for The Hallmark that fire orders and escape points are clearly visible in all apartments, especially those where tenants are not as familiar with the building. The Hallmark Standard Fire Orders are attached.

Standard Fire Orders:

  1. Assist any person in immediate danger - if safe to do so
  2. Close the door
  3. Call the Fire Brigade on 000
  4. Attack the fire if safe to do so
  5. Evacuate to assembly area (use stairs - not lifts)
  6. Remain at assembly area and ensure everyone for your apartment and level is accounted for where possible

When responding to the Standard Fire Orders, make plenty of noise to warn others on your floor as you move away from the danger and keep low to avoid breathing toxic fumes

It is recommended that each apartment has a portable powder extinguisher (red with white band) and a fire blanket for cooking fires.  This small investment may save substantial damage and injury should a fire occur in or around an apartment.

If you are unsure of what to do on detection of a fire follow the Standard Fire Orders.

It is strongly recommended that all apartments, especially those that are tenanted display the Standard Fire Orders on the back of the entrance/exit door.  The Building Manager has printed copies of the Standard Fire Orders for all Owners/Occupiers.
